The Christmas deadline for submissions to the Spillwords 12 Days of Christmas caught me off guard this year, and I sort of threw a story together. Even my wife says it’s “a little too Hallmarky.” None the less, Spillwords felt sorry for me and published it today. Hope you enjoy –

I’ve not been putting my fingers to the keyboard as much this year, been a bit more of a struggle trying to find the positive. I know it’s still out there, just have to be more determined and dig a little deeper.

I received a surprise honor this morning, as I was told my long story, The Grand Adventure, was selected as Story of the Month at Spillwords Press. Thanks to all who were able to read it, as the number of reads help with their decision.

“The Grand Adventure,” one of my longer efforts, went up on Spillwords today. A tale on friendship, families (not always a good thing), with an underlying commentary on aging and the bumps in the road we encounter, it was a fun write. I hope you will enjoy –

Finding Christmas Along Interstate 75

For the second time I’ve been nominated for “Author of the Month” at Spillwords. Though several of the names on that short list have a considerable following on Spillwords (you have to log in to vote), I am quite honored to have at least been mentioned.

This morning my shorts have been tucked into their drawers for the season – frost on the neighboring rooftops was the straw that broke the camel’s back with regard to my hanging on to summer (or at least fall).

Ugh!

One of my favorite, if not the favorite song by Zep, it’s also the title to my latest story that Spillwords was so kind to feature.
